My name is Troy O’Neal founder of Bully Bats Inc. I’m a former catcher at the professional level, playing up through the Milwaukee Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks Organizations. After retiring in the late 90’s I continued to play at a competitive level in summer leagues and tournaments. This is when I realized I could not obtain the same quality bats from the large national companies because I was no longer a professional baseball player. My quest over the years for big league quality wood was getting frustrating. That’s when I met Mark, a local bat maker in my area. He explained the difference between a high quality bat and one of lesser quality.
“Bat making companies all have the opportunity use the best wood. When you buy large quantities of wood Sugar Maple and Northern Ash, some pieces are better than others. For decades, the best pieces of wood were saved for the big league players on down through the minor leagues. The pieces left over were sold to the general public. Once you become an expert at making bats, the big difference in the bat itself is all in the wood that you purchase.”
In other words, these companies were buying high quality wood, but only selling it to professional baseball players. The rest of the lesser quality wood was still used to make pretty good bats, but not the best bats. These were the bats that were made available to rest of the general public.
It was then I decided to become an expert at making baseball bats, and create a company at the national and international level, that would offer out the best wood bats to all comers. Ever since then I’ve been on a quest to make the highest quality bat, with the highest quality wood, and sell them at an affordable price. Whether you play in the big leagues, double AA, college, or just competitive local baseball, you to have the opportunity to swing a Maple, Birch or Ash bat, made from the best quality wood on the planet, now known as the Bully Bat.
My passion is to make the best wooden baseball bat on the market today. My goal is to become the largest manufacturer of wooden baseball bats in this country today, without loosing touch with the quality that we originally sought out to have.
I know you can consider using a lot of different bats, but I assure you, once you use a Bully Bat, you may never swing a different bat.
